How to be Stylish, but pack light when traveling

My family came out to our house for Easter dinner, (my husband is the cook), and my mom asked if she could look through the scarves that  I have for sale. She was looking for one that was colorful and light weight, to take on her upcoming trip to Europe.  And when traveling anywhere, but especially out of the country, packing is always an issue. You want to be sure that you are prepared for everything, you want to look nice, be comfortable, and you don’t want to have a ton of bags to lug from place to place.

While I was watching my mom try on scarves, I remembered this is why I design, these are the problems that I”m trying to solve. I want packing and travel to be fun. I want you to look good and feel stylish wherever you are, and I want it to be easy.

Ask my husband, or anyone that’s ever traveled with me, I hate to pack. I wait until the last minute and then I start throwing things into my suitcase, there is no method, no planning, just complete random bag stuffing.  The only planned part of my packing is scarves. I know that no matter what I put into that suitcase if I throw in a few of my scarves I will be fine.

Now I”m not advocating that anyone adopt my method of packing, because while scarves can be used to:

~ keep you warm

~ add color and style to an outfit

~ cover your shoulders when touring one of the lovely churches in Europe

~ act as a blanket or pillow on the plane, bus, train

~ cover your head when it starts to rain

~ hang over the window to block the early morning sunlight that keeps waking you too early

~ cover your belly on the days that you’re not loving your body

A scarf cannot:

~ act as underwear

~ be used to brush your teeth

~ be worn as footwear

Think back to your last trip, remember getting dressed, searching through your bag and realizing that you didn’t like anything that you packed, but you were stuck. Now think about your next trip, whether it’s for business or pleasure. Imagine packing your favorite pair of pants, favorite skirt, and a few simple comfortable tops. Then you get to add your Amber Kane Scarves. You know that your scarf will look good with everything that you pack, you know that there are a ton of ways that you can wear it, and you know that you will get endless compliments.

Sounds good right? It’s time to work on your Amber Kane Scarf collection, hop over to the shop and pick up your favorite scarf. And if you haven’t already, don’t forget to buy your plane ticket for your dream vacation.

One more thing, your friends travel for work and pleasure as well, so let them in on the packing and style secret.
