The Village Artisans Gallery: Tips on how to approach a gallery

As  a new artist, one of the first things that you have to figure out, is what is the best way to sell your work. Many artists sell their work in galleries, however, you need to take some important steps to get your work prepared to present to a gallery.

The Village Artisans Gallery is located in Boiling Springs, PA and has been open for 18 years. The owner PJ was kind enough to take some time to share how she selects work for her gallery, how she likes to be approached by artists, and what she wants you to have ready when you show her your work. While standards vary from gallery to gallery, she shares a lot of great tips, that any artists can and should apply to their work.

Time to take action: Make a list of the galleries that you would love to have carry your work, send them an email introducing yourself and your work and see what happens.
