1 tip to help you relax, and FREE guided mediation

I’m super tired and so excited to crawl into bed and sleep. I pull up the  soft red blanket that I love oh so much, perfectly position my pillows so that no matter which way I roll, I’ll land on a soft cushion. Cozy, perfection… and then I close my eyes.

Clearly my brain doesn’t understand, closed eyes, means stop thinking, stop planning , no  more ideas.

I start thinking about the classes that I”ll be teaching the next day, and add a few more ideas to the lesson. Then I switch to the gallery.

I want to do a new display for June, what it should be…. crazy things start flying through my head.

Then … I could make silohettes of people that I know or people that I admire, and have them wearing scarves. But when the heck am I going to have time to draw all of these people, and will these people mean anything to my customers.. probably not, and then somehow I start thinking about animals, oh I love animals, farm animals, there are a lot of those in Lancaster, yes farm animals wearing my scarves, that would be perfect.

I keep repeating farm animals wearing scarves…… don’t forget……. farm animals wearing scarves. Finally I decide to pull out my sketch book, oh crap, now that I’m writing even more is coming out. My husband is looking at me, like what the hell are you doing. I thought that you went to sleep 45 minutes ago, why are you writing about farm animals.

You’re laughing because you can relate, it can be hard to turn our brains off. Really hard. Last year, one of my friends, started teaching Yoga Nidra classes. I had no clue what it was, but she was my friend, I liked yoga , so why not give it try. The beginning was always hard, she was telling me to relax and stop thinking, and I was laying there telling myself to stop thinking, which only drew more attention to my thoughts,  but by the end my mind was actually at rest.

Most times, I wanted to stay right there in the studio and sleep on the floor. But that would be a bit strange, my husband ( who doesn’t have a phone, nor do we have a home phone, but that’s another story) would wonder where I was, and I didn’t have any clothes to put on for work the next day.

I’m bringing the gift of yoga nidra to you, and your home. Sign up and you’ll receive 3 FREE recordings to help guide you. You can use them over and over, and the best part is that you can do it wherever and whenever.

I want to relax

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like
you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do
with some pics to drive the message home a little
bit, but other than that, this is great blog.
A fantastic read. I will certainly be back.
