How to dress for your body I almost always wear dresses as tops in the fall and winter. 1. It’s a great way to take a summer dress and make it work all year long. 2. My body is pretty rectangular, meaning not a lot of curves, and tops that hit about the same place as my pants just don’t work. The dresses extend the line making me look taller and thinner. The funny part is that when I was in elementary school, my parents almost sent me to a mennonite school, where in the winter I would have had to wear pants under my dresses, I thought that it was the worst thing ever!
