Start an art collection in your closet
One of the reasons that I love fashion, style, and getting dressed in the morning is because the way that you dress says so much about who you are and what you believe. And for those of you that fall more into the introvert category , your clothes are a great way to convey your message without having to open to your mouth.
As a teacher, I’m expected to be in charge and to be outgoing, but in reality , I enjoy being quiet, so I’ve learned to use my clothes to speak for me, to make me feel bold, confident, vibrant, and liberated…. yup my clothes do all of those things, and if you don’t believe me, think about how you feel when you’re wearing something that you love, when your hair is doing exactly what you wanted it to, and to top it off you found the perfect pair of wedges that are actually comfortable.
Clothes have the power to transform you into the person or character that you need to be.
Getting dressed in the morning is taking the time to decide who you want to be that day, what story you want to tell, or what character you wish to play.
While it’s one thing to admire textiles…. handwoven loveliness online, it’s another to get to see it in person, hold it in your hands, and drape it over your shoulders, wrap it around your head, and watch it flow and as you boldly move forward.
I haven’t done an outdoor show in 3 years….. I don’t like them…. more so , I hate them. There’s enough that can go wrong at a show, so usually I don’t feel like adding bad weather into the mix.
However, this Oct I’m breaking my rule and doing an outdoor show. For 3 years artist after artist, and customer after customer has told me that I should do the PA Guild show in Rittenhouse Square. I’ve made excuses, ignored them, and then finally gave in. This show has gotten too many rave reviews for me to ignore, which means that you don’t want to miss it either.
If you live in the Lancaster, Pa, or Harrisburg area, it’s also a super easy and relaxing train ride.
