Clothing that makes you feel divinely feminine

Last week I headed to La Salle University for AP art teacher training ( sounds thrilling, I know)… everyone warned me, that the are surrounding La Salle wasn’t safe, and that I shouldn’t go off of campus. I wasn’t that concerned, until I was in the cab on my way to La Salle.

I haven’t seen that kind of poverty in quiet some time. My heart broke, and all kinds of questions began to flood through my mind.

However, my inner dialogue was interrupted when the cab driver pulled over , and said that we’d arrived at our destination. I looked out the window and wasn’t seeing a college anywhere, I refused to get out of the car, noting that he hadn’t taken me to the address requested.

He wasn’t buying it, but there was just no way that I was getting out of that cab. I typed the address into my GPS, and started giving him directions. Eventually , we ended up on campus, I swiped my credit card for a $35 cab ride ( at this point I was getting yelled at for using my credit card, and not giving him a tip)

Ladies, sometimes we need to stand up for ourselves, and this situation was one of those times.

Throughout the AP training it once again became clear that I rarely do things simply because someone tells me to, or because everyone else is doing it. That’s also how I came to the decision not to put sizes on the new woven tops and tunics.

When we go shopping we know that a medium is not a medium in every store… but how wonderful and easy it would be if a medium really was always a medium.

So labeling the tops as small, medium, and large, didn’t make any sense to me, it wasn’t going to be helpful information for you.

So instead, I’m giving you the measurement from shoulder to bottom, and the circumference. ( one of the few things that I remember from math class)  That way, you can compare that top with anything in your closet, or pull out a tape measure and see how long it will be on you.

Until a medium is the same size in every store, I’m going to keep breaking the trend and just giving you measurements.

Here’s to not following rules and directions that just don’t make sense, and feeling divinely feminine and confident everyday.

One more thing, I hate to say it, but July is almost over, and that means the special prices for the tops is almost over as well. In Aug the tunic party has to end, so if you’ve been thinking about getting one for yourself, or for a gift, do it today.
