Forgive yourself

the loom has been quiet

the pedals remain solid on the floor instead of their usual up and down dance that they do

each thread remains on it’s cone

and for a moment i feel guilty

a tinge of sadness

life is full of phases

chapters

moments

and this moment is for the loom to rest

this moment is for me to reflect

for me to teach…. the importance of art…. the creative process… kindness…compassion….. yes it’s time for me to teach

this moment is to understand that i can not do everything

but only one thing at a time

and right now that one thing is rest

What is this moment for you?

forgive yourself for the things that didn’’t get checked off of your list

they will be there tomorrow

forgive yourself, for propping your feet up and hitting play

some days the only task that you must do , is to be still, be silent , be open

and this in of itself is a great gift to yourself and to the world

resting for tomorrow, reflecting on the past, and being open to what the future wishes to give you

You may have noticed that there haven’t been a lot of new scarves lately, and it’s because I’ve been busy teaching. A new semester started, I ran a weekend class, and decided to run another session of my online course Creative Confidence.

In order to do all these things to the level that I want to, I needed to spend less time in the studio, and channel my creative energy towards teaching.

I’m sure that I will sit behind the loom again soon. And I”m sure that you that you too will get done the things that you need to do as well.

But today I’m sharing my story to give myself, and to give you permission to rest, permission to focus on just one thing. Permission to follow where you’re being lead.
