The Gift of Making time stop, and blurring the lines between work and Play

While working in the studio I spend a lot of time listening to podcast, and often listen to interviews about people’s creative and business journeys to success. A common theme is that, at least in the beginning, they spend a lot of time working.

I found myself questioning if I “work” enough to  have that kind of success. What I realized was that I do in fact “work” a lot, but it doesn’t feel like work, because I love what I do. See while these thoughts were going through my head, I had just spent the last 10 hours working on a crochet project, which to me, meant that I hadn’t worked at all that day.

So what’s this have to do with you? The reason that I was crocheting all day, was because I was working on some new patterns for a crochet workshop that I’m teaching Sept 7th. When I create a new pattern I usually do it 3-4 different ways, playing with various yarns, crochet hooks, and sizes. I like to truly understand the pattern so that I can make it easy for you to understand. Plus I don’t follow directions or patterns myself, counting rows, and stitches makes crocheting feel like work to me, and well than I don’t want to do it . My goal is to understand a piece inside and out, so that I can make it super easy for you to understand and create. I want you to love crochet as much as I do, I want to give you the gift of having something that blurs the lines of work and play, and stops time.

I”m in progress of creating crochet lessons that you can take from the comfort of your home, while your curled up on your coach, in your pjs, with a glass of wine. But until those are finished you’re just going to have to come and hang out with me and some other fun people in person.
