Objects that Carry memories of moments

Amber Kane handwoven scarves

As I’ve been working on the Miriam Collection it’s caused me to pause and take time to remember my grandmother and those that were close to her. It’s also been a challenge to think about what I wanted to write and how I wanted to share the stories of these scarves. I’ve decided to attempt to keep them short, simple, while sharing a glimpse of the memory that they hold.

Caroline: Named after one of my grandmother’s sisters.
Memory of Aunt Caroline: She brought everyone towels from Watt & Shand ( this may seem an odd memory, but as a child it seemed to fascinate me, and stuck with me all of these years)

This piece was started after my grandmother’s funeral, to be honest, there was about a week and half that I didn’t spend much time creating, and it was a welcoming feeling to be in my space, creating, content.

Celebrate the moments
Good, bad, happy, sad
all are part of the journey

Be thankful for each
giving it it’s moment in time
allowing the truth of feeling space
to flow in and out, back and forth through you
