Why I decided it was okay to Cry

Amber Kane Miriam Scarf

Through this time of letting go I’ve found myself with tears streaming down my face at some point each day. Perhaps it’s because I’m thinking about my grandmother a lot and looking at photos of her as I work on this collection. I recently read an article by Danielle Laporte on Embracing your sadness.

I read this part over and over this week:

“Love my sadness.
Sadness, I love you.
Let me give you a kiss, instead of my fist.
You’re heavy, but you’re so honest.
I should give you more credit. More space.
I’ll be grateful when you leave —
but I know I’ll be grateful that you came.” Danielle Laporte
