Sarah Fox of Cursive Design: Starting without a Plan

The jewelry that Sarah Fox of Cursive Design creates is so imaginative and fun, I have a few of her pieces and just love them. Here are a few of my favorites from her current collection. Be sure to jump over to her shop and treat yourself. Which is your favorite?

Sarah’s work can be found in a lot of fun shops, two that you are probably familiar with are Anthropologie and Of a Kind.

Sarah has been running her jewelry business for 6 years, and shares that she didn’t have a plan or any business background when she got started. She knew that she was good at designing and jewelry and loved it. When she started she didn’t realize that she should be emailing and sharing her work with bloggers ( they found her anyway) . Telling others about your work is an essential part to marketing, but you want to be sure that you do it in a tasteful way.  Hilary Rushford of Dean Street Society wrote a great post on this exact topic.

A great word of advice that Sarah passed on from one of her college professors: ” You should be able to make something out of nothing.”
